No dumping duties to be applied on imports of hardwood plywood from China

Against the decision of the US Commerce Department, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined last week, that the US industry is neither materially injured nor threatened with material injury by reason of imports of hardwood plywood from China.

During 2013, the U.S. Commerce Department had determined that hardwood plywood from China had been subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.

However, according to the ITC press release (November 5, 2013), no antidumping or countervailing duty orders will be issued with respect to imports of hardwood plywood from China.

Back in 2012, the ITC had also ruled that Chinese hardwood plywood is sold in the United States allegedly below market prices. But now the decision is that there was insufficient proof of injury or threat to the U.S. economy
